Elizabeth Dana

Elizabeth Dana (Dawney) was baptized 19 March 1618 in the Manchester Collegiate Church, England. Her parents were Robert and Elizabeth Dana nee Barlow. Elizabeth married Ralph Travis on 6 August 1646 in Manchester.

Her brother Richard went to America in 1640. Richard Dana was baptized 31 October 1617 in the Manchester Collegiate Church, England. He landed in New England, America, in 1640 and settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was unmarried and was employed for a while to move hay. In 1647 he received a hundred acres of land across the Charles River in "Little Cambridge". He married Ann Bullard around 1648. On 2 April 1690 he died falling from a scaffold in his barn, and is buried unmarked in Harvard Square. The inventory of his belongings shows 3 beds, 4 tables, chairs, books, bed linen, table cloths, spinning wheels, pewter and brass, fire irons, candle sticks, arms and ammunition, indian corn, rye, cow, mare, and 3 bridled swine.
