Beans are a warm weather crop. They won't germinate if the soil is below 13ºC. Sow in October. Sow direct in the soil if possible as beans do not like root disturbance. Sow at 4 weekly intervals until the middle of summer.
Protect from slugs and snails.
One application of fertilizer prior to planting should be enough for the season. Keep well-watered over the dry months. Harvest regularly.
